Final call to register: 4th Virtual Conference
Final call to register for our Virtual Conference taking place this Saturday
There is still time for IACLE members to register for our fourth global Virtual Conference themed ‘Make students practice ready’, taking place this Saturday 14 May from 12 noon – 3 pm UK time (BST). In contact lenses, classroom teaching has an essential role to play. However, dealing with patients in a clinical setup poses different challenges. Hence, the focus of IACLE’s fourth Virtual Conference will bridge the gap between academic teaching and contact lens practice requirements.
The conference will be chaired by IACLE Treasurer / Secretary Dr Etty Bitton and introduced by IACLE President Professor Philip Morgan.
The program features presentations on:
- Problem-based learning
- Incorporating case reports in teaching
- How to conduct a practical session
- Challenges and solutions in assessing students’ skills
- Effective patient communication and counselling
- Internships and externships
PLUS a panel discussion on ‘Programs and activities to establish contact lens clinics in institutional settings’. Expert academics from China, Colombia, Malaysia, and Palestine will present their experiences running a student contact lens clinic focusing on learning activities and attracting more patients. This session will be live streamed to our Facebook page for non-members and students, along with all sessions in Part Two – please see program for further details.
IACLE Executive Manager of Educational Programs Nilesh Thite says, ‘IACLE’s fourth global Virtual Conference promises to deliver a much-needed theme ‘Make students practice ready.’ This one-of-a-kind event will benefit all contact lens educators. Please register if you have not done so yet!’
