Over 100 participants watched live online as IACLE’s Board, representatives from IACLE sponsors, and authors involved in writing the British Contact Lens Association’s (BCLA) Contact Lens Evidence-based Academic Report (CLEAR) Initiative shared knowledge on their areas of expertise. The post-conference survey was positive, with all respondents strongly agreeing or agreeing that the overall topics covered in the congress were relevant to their needs. We thank all the event participants and give special thanks to our sponsors for making the Virtual Conference and other IACLE activities possible.

NEWS IN NOVEMBER

Image of the Month

FIACLE Dr Atanu Samanta and Ashish Singh from Nagar School of Optometry in Ahmedabad, India captured the above images using a OnePlus 7T mobile with a camera sensor under slit lamp defuse illumination. The 48-year-old male soft contact lens wearer complained of poor vision and ocular discomfort for two months and had been a soft lens wearer for more than a year. However, on slit lamp examination, the pair found jelly bumps on different areas of the lens. A possible cause of this could be due to infrequent follow-up visits and improper cleaning of the lenses.
