These awards have the potential to provide life-changing opportunities for the winners.’

IACLE member Eman Alzghuol was teaching practical aspects of contact lenses to 4th-year students at Jordan University of Science and Technology when she won an IACLE Travel Award in 2016. Eman has since gone on to study for a Master’s degree at the University of New South Wales in Australia. ‘IACLE has made a unique change to my career and my life as well,’ she says. ‘The award allowed me to attend the American Academy of Optometry meeting and this opportunity opened my eyes to new technology and innovation in the contact lens field. This gave me the enthusiasm to carry out postgraduate study and broaden my knowledge, and it enhanced my confidence while teaching and practising contact lenses.

‘Winning the IACLE Travel Award was one of the important events in my life – it was a day to remember forever,’ says Eman.

The deadline for entries for the 2019 awards is midnight (EST) on Thursday 31 January 2019. Visit www.iacle.org (Awards) for full details on how to enter and application forms.
