IACLE’s Third Virtual Conference
Register now for IACLE’s Virtual Conference ‘Education and Practice: All CLEAR’
We are excited to announce that we are holding a third global Virtual Conference themed ‘Education and Practice: All CLEAR’ on Saturday 23 October from 12 noon until 3pm UK time (BST). In March 2021, the British Contact Lens Association (BCLA) released the Contact Lens Evidence-based Academic Reports (CLEAR) to provide the latest research information across a wide range of contact lens-related topics for eye care professional and educators. This report features 11 papers written by 102 authors from 16 countries.
IACLE’s global Virtual Conference focuses on evidence-based practice and teaching and will include summaries of the most relevant reports. Several authors involved in writing these papers will speak on their areas of expertise.
The conference will be chaired by IACLE Board Member and FIACLE Dr Byki Huntjens and introduced by IACLE President Professor Philip Morgan.
The program features presentations on:
- Evidence-based practice: Why and how?
- Ocular response – effect on tears
- Ocular response – effect on physiology
- Ocular complications in contact lens wear
- Going beyond the routine – contact lenses for medical use
- Going beyond the routine – orthokeratology
- Going beyond the routine – scleral lenses
PLUS a panel discussion on ‘Future challenges for contact lens educators and potential solutions’, with experts from IACLE’s sponsors.
IACLE Executive Manager of Educational Programs Nilesh Thite says, ‘As evidence continues to remain a buzzword in contact lens practice and education, IACLE’s third Virtual Conference themed ‘Education and Practice: All CLEAR’ will focus on evidence-based practice. We believe that IACLE members worldwide will find the conference very informative and hope that many members benefit from it. We look forward to seeing you there!’
