IACLE Image of the Month

Share your best clinical images with other IACLE members, gain recognition for your skills and be in the running for the Image of the Year Award!

IMAGE OF THE MONTH was introduced in 2018 is a new monthly feature to highlight your photographic skills. From the start of each new year in January, each month’s Global Member Newsletter will feature an image added to our new annual IACLE Image Collection. At the end of each year the IACLE Education Team will award the IMAGE OF THE YEAR.

Each year’s collection will be accessible exclusively to IACLE members via our Online Resources in the member login section of our website, to use in their teaching. Images can illustrate any topic related to contact lenses and anterior eye.

Complete the form for each image submitted and email it with your image to IACLE Director of Educational Programs Nilesh Thite at n.thite@iacle.org.

Images must be in jpeg format and file size should be between 1Mb and 3Mb 

Apoorv Paranjpe from Pune, India submitted the image below in 2018, taken with a Samsung Galaxy J7 Max under slit-lamp Illumination.

Silicone oil used in vitreoretinal surgery had shifted to the anterior chamber with which patient was not satisfied cosmetically (left).

Secondary surgery to remove silicone oil was not recommended by the ophthalmologist. Although the patient had no functional vision in this eye, instead of giving a dark pupil lens a clear pupil lens was dispensed (right), since PLPR (perception of light and projection of rays) was present.

IACLE Image Collections
