GLOBAL WEBINAR
‘Effect of water exposure on the contact lens storage case’ with Dr Memoona Arshad
Join Dr Memoona Arshad on Wednesday 20 April at 12 noon UK (BST) for a global webinar on ‘Effect of water exposure on the contact lens storage case’.
Water exposure during contact lens wear can transfer pathogenic microorganisms to the eye and cause ocular complications. Dr Memoona Arshad and her co-authors determined that water exposure is prevalent among lens wearers and is independently associated with higher case contamination. In this webinar, she will discuss the findings of their study. The webinar will be introduced by IACLE Gold Sponsor, CooperVision, and chaired by IACLE Vice President Dr Shehzad Naroo.
Members can watch live online via Zoom, and the event will be live streamed to our Facebook page for students to get involved. Please see Zoom details below.

The webinar will feature an overview of infectious and non-infectious contact lens related keratitis. Our understanding of prevention and prophylaxis of contact lens-related keratitis has been informed by several well designed prospective epidemiological studies describing incidence rates and risk factors and recent evidence for causative organisms, pathophysiology, and the differences between individuals. This talk aims to discuss the predisposing factors, investigations, and management of this condition.
